2015 - Year Of Opportunity For First-Time Homebuyers!

So, why build your landlord’s wealth when you can build your own?

·         Mortgage rates are near historic lows.
·         2014 was the best year since 2000 for total job growth.
·         Home prices continue rising steadily.
·         Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced that they will start backing mortgages with down payments as low as 3% of the home's price. This will make conventional mortgages more accessible to first-time home buyers.
·         The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has lowered the annual mortgage insurance premium rate which could have a significant impact in a buyer’s ability to meet income qualification ratios for a loan.
·         Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac clarified their credit qualification standards. This should make it easier for many home buyers to get a loan with slightly lower FICO scores and slightly higher loan-to-income and debt-to-income ratios.

Your First Home: The Proven Path to Home Ownership outlines the process of home ownership in eight simple steps and is a must-read for anyone considering purchasing their first home!

2015 is expected to be a big year for growth in home sales with conventional and FHA mortgages more accessible to first-time homebuyers. In many areas, the cost of monthly rent exceeds the cost of a monthly house payment. I know that the decision to purchase your first home is a big one and I'm here to answer any questions you might have about entering into the Kansas City area real estate market.  If you have been dreaming of owning your own home in the Kansas City area, I want to help you take advantage of this opportunity!
